It’s time for someone to get their just desserts as a killer is going to take sweet revenge at the world’s largest baking contest! This crime isn’t going to be a cakewalk though. With lies, intrigue and deception in the mix, there’s all the ingredients in place for tantrums & tiers to take place! Can you uncover the truth before the killer is scone? Will the killer take the biscuit and fool you all? Or will the icing on the cake be when you solve the crime and walk away being super sleuth of the night? Our interactive investigations are perfect for adding that extra dimension to your crime solving fun. During the evening you’ll be given the opportunity to search the venue for clues and seek out the persons of interest involved with the crime in order to get to the bottom of this mystery. With puzzles to solve, evidence to uncover and suspects to interrogate, there’s several ways to crack the case in order to catch your killer, keeping your little grey cells busy as you sleuth your way to victory.

Parking: Free of charge at Bolton Abbey station.
Lunchtime performance times: Doors open 12:30pm; performance starts 1:00pm.
Evening performance times: Doors open 5:30pm; performance starts 6:00pm.
Location: Bolton Abbey station buffet and continues during the course of the 3-course meal during the train journey.
Tickets: £72.00 per person. Due to our limited seating configuration, tickets are sold in 2's, 3's or 4's. All tickets include a first class return ticket, 3-course meal and 3-hour interactive show. What is the event?
A full cabaret floor show with Murder Mystery. You, as the guest play detective to work out who committed the crime.
Presented over a three course meal, the Criminal Cabaret shows are an evening of song, dance, music, comedy and murder as the mystery comes to life around you.
Scenes of evidence are presented between your courses and the suspects mingle amongst you to be questioned whilst you eat as you try and discover which of these larger than life characters committed the deadly deed.
You are guided along on your investigation by the all-seeing, all knowing Inspecter who hosts the night, hands out handy hints and clues and eventually reveals the solution to the mystery and rewards those who are the ‘superest’ of sleuths.
What Story is the show based on?
It depends on the theme. All of the dinner shows include song, dance and just the right amount of audience participation to ensure you have a night you’ll never forget.
How does the event run?
The Murder Mystery is presented as a full theatrical production, with scenes of evidence between the courses of food. The show runs in tandem with the three course dinner, so whilst you are eating you get the chance to interact with the suspects and question them to try and solve the crime.
What time does it finish? (When should I book my Taxi?)
(As long as the event starts on time) The event duration is approximately 3hours long.
Will I have to act in it?
No, the audience members do not play parts in the show. It is a full theatrical piece involving Six Actors. However audience members are invited to interact with the characters and question them in order to solve the crime. There is no forced audience participation.
Do I have to bring anything (notepad, Pen)?
All notepads and Pens are provided within a Faux Leather bound booklet which includes rules of the game, how to play, notepad and Pen.
Is it Fancy Dress?
Do feel free to dress in the style of the period, or in the theme of the show – dressing up is not enforced.

We do our best to cater for individuals with specialist dietary requirements, but we do not have space in our on train kitchen for a suitable separate food preparation area required for food hygiene regulations, and so unfortunately we are limited in our catering for specialist dietary requirements.
Please arrive 20 minutes before departure so we can get you seated.
Vegetarian suitability: The Curry Express, Murder Mystery, Fish & Chips Specials, Breakfast Train, Ploughman's Lunch, Afternoon Teas, Faulty Towers - The Dining Experience, Winter Warmers and Cream Teas (groups only). These events are either vegetarian or have an alternative vegetarian option. Select vegetarian tickets in the checkout.

Dogs: Whilst we are a dog friendly Railway we regret (with the exception of assistance dogs) we do not allow dogs in our dining carriages.
