Wickham Trolley

(c) Tim Warner
(c) Tim Warner (c) Tim Warner The Wickham trolley is seen here in the new shed at Embsay where the final stages of its restoration are being carried out by Ian Douglas. The original engine was no longer suitable for use, and a replacement was acquired from a military vehicle that was originally used as a target (?) for a firing range. The condition of its use is that the old engine goes into this vehicle, which is on its way to a museum. The engine has recently been fitted, and just requires fully connecting up and testing / tuning. Two photos are included, taken whilst work to install the engine was underway.

Further information about this Wickham Trolley and photographs will appear shortly.
Wickham Trolley: DB965095 (Wickham No. 7610). Built 1957. Interesting feature: has wooden brake blocks, onto pressed wheels.

Dave and Ian attempt to stop the trolley back-firing noisily while everyone else descends on the scene to find out who was killing what! BANG!!
