Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway

Projects

This page has been put together to keep you informed of the main projects being undertaken by the Railway at the current time, as well as summarising the previous projects undertaken, and what is coming up in the future. A lot more detail and links will be added here over the next couple of months.

Skipton

We aim to run trains down into Skipton station. To this end, two studies have now been carried out, in conjunction with Network Rail, to ascertain what needs to be done and what benefits it will have to the area as a whole. More details will follow.

New Shed

A new engineering facility has been built at Embsay and is largely complete. Further details can be found by following This link. This also included the dissmantling of the original MR Goods Shed.

Stoneacre

Volunteers built a brand new, award winning signalbox to control a passing loop half way along the line.

Bolton Abbey station

A HUGE project to rebuild the station at Bolton Abbey, in the style of the Midland Railway's original timber building.
